Description of Duties:

Perform HVAC, plumbing and fire protection designs, oversee specified staff, manage project design, oversee client management, sign or co-sign engineering drawings/designs in conformance with professional engineering standards. Manage and oversee plumbing and fire protection engineering projects, including designing, analyzing, and evaluating plumbing and fire protection systems in accordance with applicable engineering codes, standards, and project specifications. Provide quality control for all work under supervision by reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and system designs. Supervise and mentor engineering staff, assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure quality control of all deliverables. Participate in client meetings to assess project requirements and provide expert recommendations; evaluate and recommend design modifications and ensure efficient utilization of project resources. Confer with engineers, project managers, and technical personnel to resolve design issues, implement engineering solutions, and provide technical guidance. Manage workload and deadlines within the department, including coordinating technical activities related to project design and execution. Lead small specialty projects, including overseeing system design, performing engineering evaluations, and ensuring project completion within scope and budget. Provide assistance during construction administration (CA), including supporting installation review and ensuring systems are implemented in accordance with design intent. Conduct annual performance reviews of PFP Project Managers and participate in the evaluation of engineering staff. Participate in interviews with potential new PFP team members and evaluate technical qualifications. Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:  Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field. 24 months of experience as Project Manager, Associate Engineer, Engineering Specialist, Mechanical Engineer, HVAC Engineer or related fields. 

Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
